The interventions are carried out on an individual and on group basis.
Our interventions classified accordingly:

A. Enhancement of social skills through the negotiation of collective issues, boundaries and self-control.

The aim is to develop a responsible personality through dealing with authentic problems in real conditions (authenticity: motivation for involvement), cooperation and the acquisition of new knowledge, which is formed through the cooperation of people who work together to solve an issue/problem.

B. Emotion Management through a multi-sensory approach, which promotes self-confidence and the management of internal conflicts.

The goal is to recognize, understand and express the feelings of themselves, but also of others (empathy).

C. Development of Cognitive Skills: Perception, Attention, Memory (sensory, working, long-term), Processing Speed, Reasoning, Logical Thinking, Decision Making and Cognitive Ability.

The aim is to detect cognitive deficits, in order to gradually address them through a variety of activities and psychoeducational tools. Great emphasis is placed on the organization of information in order to make good data processing.

Psychological Skills Training & Development

Sport and performance psychology helps individual athletes or even entire teams to enhance performance, increase enjoyment, achieve greater sport self-satisfaction and finally to realize their potential.

The process of psychological skills training program includes three stages:

α) Educational stage
At this stage, athletes become aware of the psychological techniques (goal setting, mental imagery, relaxation techniques, self-talk, routines), and understand the mental techniques predominantly used in sport psychology as well as their usefulness and effectiveness.
b) Skills acquisition stage
At this stage, the sport psychology consultant collaborates with the coach in order to identify each athlete’s personal needs, and to develop a personalized plan. Thus, the application of the psychological techniques during training and competition takes place.
c) Practical stage
This stage focuses on the automatization of psychological techniques and their systematic integration into the training program with the ultimate goal of enhancing psychological skills (e.g., self-confidence, self-concentration, management of promotional stress), which play a crucial role during competitions and for attaining optimal athletic performance.

Does a sport psychologist work only with athletes?

The purpose of a Sport Psychologist is to work with all the people associated with the athletes, including parents, coaches, medical staff and any person promoting the athlete's sporting career, including family members.

Coincidentally, a good cooperation with the people around the athlete is the most effective approach, for an appropriate motivational climate to be developed, and eventually to contribute to optional performance and a healthy personality of athletes.
